Viscosifier SMD 206 Polymer is a rapidly yielding, high molecular weight liquid polymer which provides viscosity. viscosifier SMD 206 could improve core recovery, especially for shales, clays, and highly fractured formations. It provides cuttings encapsulation and stabilizes the formation.

Applications:

It is similar to powder polymers such as CHP. It can be used separately, also can be combined with CX GEL or other polymers such as VIS to form a more robust mud system. It can also be used o with other clay and shale stabilizers such as CaCl2 or PSH to give a high degree of clay or shale stabilization, although higher concentrations may be required to maintain viscosity.
